The company "Consorzio Latterie Virgilio" is a second degree cooperative founded in 1966 and there were 110 associated companies grouping together over 2.500 breeders. The company works in the dairy - cheese and meat sectors.

Dairy- cheese sector

Ties to the land, respect for traditions and the complete supervision of the entire production line guarantee that each and every product bearing the Virgilio brand name is made only using top quality Italian milk, i.e. milk from the area where the characteristic and excellent national cheeses with PDO marking, are made.
The following products bear the Virgilio tradename: "Latte Italiano UHT (UHT Italian milk)", "Burro Italiano" (Italian butter), "Panna Italiana UHT da cucina" (UHT Italian cooking cream), "Panna Italiana UHT da montare" (UHT Italian whipping cream), "Mascarpone Italiano" (Italian Mascarpone cream cheese) and cheese such as Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, Grana Padano PDO and Provolone.

Meat sector

Virgilio also works pork meat. The vertical integration of cutters in companies within the group, leads to the marketing of meat and the most prestigious DOP production in the Italian cured meat sector.
