Top Team Volley Mantova –Futuro Sport Project
Top Team Volley srl is a team that is present in many schools in Mantova: 9 in the city centre and others in the upper Mantova area, number a total of 2.500 children in the area of Mantova.
In the "Futuro Sport" project, at the start of the 2005/2006 school year texts are processed at Parma University where the results and analysed and monitored in order to organise the type of motor activity each child must do in the future and indicating the sport most suitable for each child.
This is one of the many worthy reasons that has persuaded Virgilio since 2001 to support this important and established team in Mantova.

Pallamano Bancole
In 1995 the female team at the Middle school at Porto Mantovano and some physical education teachers together with some parents decided to embark on the adventure of playing in a federal championship and they were able to join the Polisportiva Bancole and create the handball sector. Since then many things have been achieved, in a few years they passed from the female under-15 regional championship to the A League in the 2005/2006 sports season.

Basket Bancole – Fondazione Don Cani
The Gruppo Sportivo Basket Bancole functions and operates thanks to the volunteer work of the members and any financial contribution from companies and private entities. For over 15 years Virgilio has supported the growth and development of this sports group aimed at developing sports amongst the young.

Festivaletteratura
As is traditional, also for the tenth edition of the Festival, Virgilio will support this national and international event that sees the participation of important people in the worldwide literary sphere.

Concurrently with the ninth edition of Festivaletteratura in 2005, Virgilio organised a large event to involve its clients, both Italian and foreign, and the most important Italian newspapers. A day organised with the dual purpose of presenting a new and innovative product (re-sealable packs of guaranteed seasoned Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano) and offering tastes of its products thanks to a menù prepared for the occasion by the great chef Luca Montersino.
Mostra Mantegna
The collaboration with the international exhibition of major importance "Mantegna a Mantova 1460/1506" which the Ministry for Cultural Affairs has organised for the 5th centenary of the death of Andrea Mantenga held in Palazzo Te, is for Virgilio once again the opportunity of concretely showing its involvement in the area.

Future Film Festival
The Consorzio Latterie Virgilio enthusiastically supports the third edition of the Movi&Co competition, which over the years has created original adverts and company films for the largest Italian companies. The Consorzio Virgilio will be the protagonist in two company films that students or new graduates registering for the competition, must film. The Consorzio has chosen to have two corporate films made where one will show the area of the creamery and the other the slaughterhouse. In the two adverts, one will deal with Virgilio UHT cream and the other will be for the Consortium in general. Each year sees the participation of hundreds of young people who have the possibility of expressing themselves to the full and experimenting with the image of the companies in a most original manner. The decision to sponsor this competition derives from the wish to find new languages in corporate communication in the belief that young artists will know how to interpret a corporate figure such as Virgilio in a new and attractive manner.

Teatro Sociale with Fondazione Toscanini
Thanks to the work of the Arturo Toscanini Foundation the Teatro Sociale in Mantova opened again at the end of 2004. In this case too Virgilio takes the opportunity to be present and support one of the most important events in the social calendar of the city.
The Foundation has its head office in Parma and works locally, nationally and internationally. It is involved in managing the musical activities of «Terre Verdiane» (Verdi’s lands) organising concert, opera and ballet seasons at the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, in the Theatres in Busseto, the Teatro Sociale in Mantova, the Teatro Castello in Vigoleno, the Sassuolo Music Festival and the Festival Mozart in Salsomaggiore. Opera productions are often directed by masters such as Franco Zeffirelli and Pier Luigi Pizzi, with the participation of artists of international fame, they are then staged in other theatres in Italy and abroad.
Virgilio and socially - important work
Virgilio has always been aware of social and cultural initiatives within the territory.
Cooperativa Sociale La Quercia
For many years Virgilio has actively supported a project for the creation of a social-rehabilitation centre for the Cooperativa Sociale Onlus "La Quercia" (non-profit organisation). This opened in March 2006 and the official inauguration will be held in September.
Medical congress 25/03/06
In view of the support given to major events on the territory, also in the medical field, Virgilio has lent its support to the organisation of a round table with the participation of many well-known names in Italian and international medical circles. Current debate places the patient and his needs at the centre of a new medical philosophy. There is the need to fight the increasing inability of doctors to face up to their responsibilities.
The aim of the medical staff at the hospital at Pieve di Coriano, province of Mantova, was that of organising an event of international importance in Mantova through a congress-debate on subject of humanising the doctor-patient relationship.
The congress had as its title "Fragile man: the manifestation of illness, suffering, treatment. Aiming for a more humane hospital" and there were contributions by Prof. Italo Portioli (medical clinician-scientific director Hospital of "Santa Maria Nuova" - Reggio Emilia), Massimo Fini (writer), Prof. Ivan Cavicchi (La Sapienza University in Roma), Dr Teresa Petrangolini ("Cittadinanza Attiva") and del Prof. Dietrich Von Engelhardt from the German Academy of medical ethics.
